Ontario Rep Hockey League

kevin@orhl.net

The Ontario Rep Hockey League (“ORHL”), established in 2011, is the #1 largest Independent Hockey League in Ontario with over 40 teams from Novice (U9) – Midget (U18). We continue to grow year after year.
The ORHL is a partner of the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) which is one of the largest sanctioning sport insurance organizations in the world. The AAU provides the ORHL with the opportunity to participate internationally by playing games and tournaments against many other programs who are sanctioned by the AAU specifically in the USA and in Europe. Being a proud partner of the AAU also allows teams from the US and Europe to participate in our ORHL events as well. Since inception there have been various teams from the US participate in our events and more recently teams from Europe attending.
What is the ORHL?
A family friendly and school friendly league that simply provides another option to play hockey where we prioritize a safe, well balanced, fair play atmosphere. We take great pride in developing your child into respectful players on and off the ice. We teach core values...respect your coaches, your teammates, your opponents, your game officials, your parents and respect the game of hockey we all love to play.

The calibre of hockey is "rep level", without specifically using the "AA", "A" or "AE" descriptors.

Key aspects ⁄ differentiators of the ORHL:
  • No address boundaries and borders
  • No releases necessary
  • Full ice Novice (U9) program
  • No body checking permitted in all divisions (Novice (U9) – Midget (U18))
  • School Friendly League - No regular season games scheduled Monday through Thursday eliminating weeknight travel.
  • Sanctioned by the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union), based out of the US, the AAU is the largest amateur sports organization in North America with over 700,000 members
Highlights of the 2019-20 Season
During the 2019–20 season, the ORHL had 700+ members and over 80 teams (43 members and 41 guest teams) that participated in 1000+ games. League play included teams from Hamilton, Kitchener, Guelph, Burlington, Milton, Cambridge, Brant, Stratford, London, Norfolk, Oxford, Halton, Carlisle, Peel Region, Brampton and Arthur, Ontario, Canada.
We are always looking forward to our newest season!
